LEWIS COLEMAN – THE BELOVED ART-ROCK ARTIST UNVEILS “INDIGO” FROM HIS NEW RECORD OFFLINE

𝐋𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧 – the Beloved art-rock artist makes music that is “heady, bewitching, and ultimately immersive” (Clash Magazine). Offline, his new record out October 27 on Beloved Recordings, is sophisticated and honest, undulating through Colemans idiosyncrasies and observations, fluxing and unfurling through less familiar aspects of his identity in conspicuous and playful ways.

Today, Coleman returns with his new single, “ɪɴᴅɪɢᴏ”, co-produced with Sam Cromack (Ball Park Music) and accompanied by another video from Jack Ralph. Recorded at Cromacks’ Prawn Records in Meanjin/Brisbane, “Indigo” is a musing, sweet and melancholic tune in which Coleman meanders through love's silly, complex, simple, sad, beautiful and ever evolving ways through the prism of colour.

Following his first single “Talking To Yourself”, “Indigo” navigates lost and changing relationships, self-preservation and those nuanced worlds we find ourselves in between wanting the best for someone while still wanting them around. “You’re hiding things from me again // I want to see your river bend // So clearly, but really, what is it you get from me?”. Set to a backdrop of his signature meandering guitar lines, warm warbly melodic piano and bouncy yet grounded rhythm section, Coleman’s delivery is delicate, heartfelt and earnest. “Is it a thing I used to know? // I took the wheel and let it go”.

Of the video, Coleman’s vision was simply to augment this particular feeling; a coming home, letting the colours of the day wash over you, a debrief, a dissection, a wind down and a wind up. The colour is lasting but you can choose to view it differently.
